Hermitage The new hermitage at the Rivendell Motherhouse is now finished, furnished, and ready for use by retreatants wanting solitude, silence and simplicity. The cedar log cabin was built by Amish neighbors from local cedar wood. Though nestled out of sight in a secluded glade, surrounded by woods, it has easy access to the Motherhouse. The hermitage is non-electric, and is heated by a wood-burning stove. Cold running water is 100 feet away. (Hot showers and other creature comforts are readily available at the Motherhouse.) Meals can be delivered to the Hermitage. For reservations, contact Susie, the Retreat Coordinator. |
